Every commission begins through private email correspondence. We believe the details of something this personal deserve to be thoughtfully considered and carefully recorded. Keeping our conversation in writing allows your inspiration, preferences, refinements, and approvals to remain together throughout the journey—creating a clear and continuous record as your commission takes shape.

THE DESIGN

Share what has inspired you—an image, a detail, a particular stone, or simply what you hope the piece will represent. You do not need to know the language of jewelry or arrive knowing exactly what you want. Our role is to listen, understand what matters to you, and begin giving form to the ideas behind your heirloom.

YOUR PROPOSAL

Once the direction of your commission has taken shape, we will prepare a personalized proposal outlining the design, stone specifications, materials, anticipated timeline, and investment.

This gives you an opportunity to consider the details of your commission before deciding to move forward.

RESERVING YOUR COMMISSION

Once your proposal is approved, a 50% non-refundable deposit reserves your place in our creation calendar and allows work on your commission to begin. The remaining balance is due in full prior to shipment.

Bespoke commissions typically require 8–10 weeks, with additional time sometimes required for custom-cut or specially sourced stones. Because every commission follows its own path, your anticipated timeline will be discussed with you before work begins.

THE STONE

The center stone is the heart of your heirloom. We believe something this personal should be discovered—or created—with intention, rather than simply selected from an existing inventory.

For our antique cuts, we work directly with cutting houses whose expertise has been refined over decades. Your diamond may be custom cut for your commission around the characteristics that matter to you—from target carat weight and shape to ratio, proportion, and culet—creating a stone with the character and individuality for which historic cuts are loved.

Our modern cuts are sourced directly from established cutting houses using advanced precision cutting technology to achieve exceptional accuracy in proportion, symmetry, and finish. Working directly with our cutting partners also allows us access to their own inventory before many of these stones enter the broader virtual marketplaces.

And sometimes, the stone has already found you. If you have discovered a diamond online that feels unmistakably yours, share it with us. If it remains available and can be sourced through our network, we would be delighted to secure it for your commission.

Whether your stone is custom cut, discovered through one of our cutting partners, or one you have already fallen in love with, our purpose remains the same: to understand your vision and find—or create—the stone worthy of becoming the heart of it.

DESIGN & CREATION

Your custom CAD is developed around your center stone’s exact dimensions, allowing its proportions, balance, and setting to be considered as one composition.

Once your design is approved, your piece is individually cast from the CAD created for your heirloom.

Stone setting is an art of its own. The precision of a setter influences everything from the security and alignment of each stone to the delicacy of the prongs and the balance of the finished piece. For this reason, we place particular importance on entrusting each stone to highly experienced setters whose work meets the standard we expect for a Bellamy commission.

Your piece is then hand-finished and polished, with careful attention given to the details often noticed only when they are done exceptionally well. Before leaving the atelier, every commission undergoes a thorough final inspection.

Exceptional craftsmanship is not defined by a single step. It is the result of many practiced hands, each entrusted with doing one thing remarkably well.

YOUR HEIRLOOM

Before leaving Bellamy Manor, your completed heirloom undergoes a thorough final inspection and is photographed to preserve a record of the piece as it was created.

It is then carefully prepared in the Bellamy presentation, where every detail of its arrival has been considered with the same care as the piece within. Your heirloom is entrusted to fully insured, signature-required delivery for its journey to you.

What began as a vision now arrives as something entirely your own—created to tell your story and carry its meaning forward.
